San Francisco also has plenty to offer gay tourists. It is home to probably the most famous gay neighborhood in the USA, the Castro, where you will find the first dedicated museum of gay history in the country. It is also where a number of special events and parades are held. You can visit the Castro Street Fair and enjoy Pink Saturday, as well as take part in San Francisco Pride.

New York is also famous for its gay villages, such as Greenwich Village, a location famous for its role in the gay liberation movement. It was due to events at the Stonewall Inn and around the Christopher Street area in the 1960s that the gay rights movement kicked off in the USA, and so it is an area steeped in history.
